“Aladdin”

by Ben Crocker
You don't need us to tell you the plot do you? You do! Alright, try this for size.
The evil magician Abanazar is on a quest to find the magic lamp that will give
him ultimate power, so he coerces Aladdin into retrieving said lamp from a cave.
Things don't go quite to plan however when on discovering the lamp,
Aladdin frees the Genie who grants him three wishes.
And then.....well, you'll just have to come along to find out the rest.
Suffice to say, the story involves a beautiful Princess, the rather less beautiful
Widow Twankey, a twit called Wishee Washee, two daft policemen,
a domineering Emperor, another Genie and a panda called Nobby. Don't ask.
All accompanied by a full Adult and Junior Chorus. What fun!

"Jack Absolute Flies Again!"

By Richard Bean and Oliver Chris
"What will happen in England after we have won this war?"
"Bunting! Bunting everywhere!"
"After the bunting has been taken down?"
"They will never take down our bunting!"
July 1940. After an aerial dog fight, Pilot Officer Jack Absolute flies home
to win the heart of his old flame, Lydia Languish. Back on British soil,
Jack’s advances soon turn to anarchy when the young heiress demands
to be loved on her own, very particular, terms.
An adaptation of Sheridan’s “The Rivals” with the action and dialogue
updated to take place in 1940 during the Battle of Britain, this hilarious
romp was first performed at the National Theatre in July 2022.
A perfectly spiffing time is guaranteed for all.
