We will be bringing Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, to glorious life, in the gardens of Haslemere Museum from June 19 to 21, Midsummer Weekend, that magical time of year when the invisible fabric that separates the fairy world from ours is at its thinnest.
Hermia flees Athens with her lover but is followed into the forest by her would-be husband and her best friend. Little do they know they are about to intrude on a feud between Oberon, the King of the fairies and his Queen, Titania. Also stumbling into the forest is a group of local workers secretly rehearsing to perform a new play at the celebration of Duke Theseus’s wedding. Oberon and his ever-faithful but wayward sidekick, Puck, decide to intervene in human affairs…what could possibly go wrong ?
