AMSND - Meet the Cast 3

Chris Wheeler - Egeus, an Athenian nobleman.

"It's been quite a while since I last graced the stage – all the way back to the tender age of ten, where I took on the formidable role of Katisha in 'The Mikado'! What brought me back to the bright lights? Well, my wonderful wife may have had something to do with it, perhaps as a way to gain some peace and quiet at home! For me, the lure was the chance to meet some new and interesting folks, and I certainly have. One of the surprising joys of playing the rather stubborn Egeus is the sheer catharsis of it all. In my day-to-day life, I'm rarely angry, so it's wonderfully freeing to let those frustrations out on stage! Being part of the local theatre scene feels important; it's such a vital thread in the fabric of Haslemere. Whether this is my theatrical swan song remains to be seen – maybe ask me again after the final curtain falls... but I have to admit, I'm rather enjoying being hooked!"
