June Play Reading Announcement

“Remember what we once were and what we thought we’d be. And now this.” J.B.Priestley wrote this poignant tale of disillusionment and regret in 1937.

At once a tragedy of lost innocence and a parable for the wasted opportunities of the inter-war years, “Time and the Conways” charts the decline of a glamorous and brilliant family from post-WW1 optimism to pre-WW2 despair. Time has done terrible things to the Conways but perhaps it can also offer Hope ? `This affecting and thoughtful piece has many beautifully-drawn character parts, particularly for women, and an arresting theatrical device that plays memorably with Time and how we experience it.

Come and read this fascinating play at The Mill on Sunday 9 June at 5.30pm.
