AMSND - Meet the Cast 9

David Greenwood - Theseus, Duke of Athens

David’s love affair with Shakespeare began at an early age when he watched (televised in glorious black and white) the legendary RSC production by Peter Hall of Richard III with the incomparable Ian Holm in the title role. He then graduated to a school production of Two Gentlemen of Verona, playing the Third Outlaw (which, strangely, had more lines than the first two outlaws put together), followed by the title role in Macbeth - which was not quite as impressive as it sounds ! A long gap ensued before he played Malvolio in the Thespians’ 2018 production of Twelfth Night - a gift and a joyful experience. Shakespeare always challenges and delights, and David is looking forward to bringing the initially austere but ultimately warm and loving Theseus to life.
